The news began to filter out in February but actually began in Sept. 2021.

Two men, one former WW Prison Guard, were sentenced in Georgia

It was in early February 2022 when we reported about a Federal raid in the Walla Walla area:

"Thursday, agents from the ATF, Washington State Patrol, WWCSO, and College Place Police served search warrants at the same time at a location in the 1900 block of Melrose Street in Walla Walla, and another in the 00 Block of SE Tenth Street in College Place.

During the College Place raid, 49-year-old John A. Smith Sr. was arrested without incident, and in Walla Walla 32-year-old John A. Smith Jr. was also taken into custody.

WWCSO officials say the College Place location was considered the "clubhouse" for the area chapter of the Pagan Motorcycle Gang, who have been linked to what they said were "felonious" crimes here and in Georgia."

Story then stretched back a few months more

Turned out two men with ties to the gang ended up being extradited to Georgia in connection with a brutal beating at a bar in Spaulding County Georgia from September 2021. The two were part of the Pagan 1 Percent motorcycle gang. From our website Oct 12, 2021:

"Dustin Wendelin, who is a corrections guard at the Washington State Pen in Walla Walla, and Pagan 1% Biker gang leader Charles Montgomery were both arrested Sept. 9th. Wendelin at the prison, and Montgomery at his home in Umatilla County."
