KPD Responds to Multiple Suicide Calls Thanksgiving Evening
Kennewick, and other Police departments in our region, remind people that during the holidays, stress and problems can be made worse.
Emotions, isolation, and 'pressure' to have a 'good' holiday can cause people to experience depression, mental issues, and even contemplate or attempt suicide.
Thanksgiving Evening, KPD reports they responded to 3 suicide calls. Fortunately, they were able to utilize their Mental Health Professionals (MHP's) who are either on call or ride along with various departments.
They remind people that if they are in need of mental health crisis assistance, it can be reached at (509)-783-0500. Response is immediate, as the Crisis Line is staffed 24-7.
Remember, say Police, you are never alone. Help is there.
