32-year-old Kennewick man is in the Benton County jail on several charges, after he allegedly decided it was a good idea to dose up on drugs in a public park Tuesday morning.

Around 9:47AM, police were called to Vancouver Park, on West 7th after a 49-year-old man called 911 and said a person had pulled a knife on him.

The suspect, identified as Corey R. Stanley, had allegedly been doing drugs in the park, according to the unharmed victim. When confronted by the passerby, Stanley allegedly pulled a knife and lunged at the man, but he missed.

When Police arrived, Stanley was still holding the weapon, but he dropped it and followed the officer's commands. He's facing assault charges, but no word on any drugs or related charges.
