Memorial Day Observances in Tri-Cities Area–Here’s the Details
There are a number of Memorial Day observances around the Tri-Cities and you're invited to attend any of them, or even all of them.
They begin on Sunday with a two-day event at Sunset Memorial Gardens on the By-Pass Highway in Richland. They will be featuring Sunday and Monday from noon to 2pm hot dogs and shaved ice for families, and face painting (patriotic style) for children. They will also feature their Avenue of 1,000 flags on Monday.
Then at 11am Monday, Rep. Matt Boehnke, retired U.S. Army Colonel, will be speaking at the grounds. Come hear his inspiring Memorial Day address.
Riverview Heights Cemetery at 10th and Olympia Kennewick will also have a special observance at 9am on Monday with color guard from VFW Post 5795 presenting colors and honoring our vets.
Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery will have an observance, also featuring VFW Post 5795, at 11am. This will occur at the grounds at 10th and Union in Kennewick.
