Creed frontman and solo artist Scott Stapp is going through some serious hardship at the moment as the rocker claims he's been under a vicious attack that has left him "completely penniless," sleeping in his truck and dealing with slanderous and libelous accusations about his character.

Stapp just posted a 15-minute public video statement (watch below) about his current predicament while also hoping to set the record straight and to also let his children know that some of the rumors about him are not true.

The vocalist starts by stating that obviously the rumors of his death were a hoax and he also revealed that he's sober despite any talk to the contrary. "I'm as sober as can be. Once the rumors starting coming out, I began getting blood and urine tests once a week just in case someone called me on the carpet on it, I could prove it."

In the video, Stapp reveals that he's been under a vicious attack that started when he began an audit of his record company and personal finances. "Over the course of that audit, a lot of things were uncovered. A lot of money was stolen from me or royalties not paid and that's when all hell began to break loose," says Stapp in the clip.

He goes on to add, "This is a vicious attack because some people that we know and at the record company and outside of that have stolen quite a bit of money, and money can make people do many bad things and when they're afraid of getting caught or exposed they can be ruthless in how they want to protect themselves for the crimes they've committed."

Stapp reveals that his attempts to figure out what's going on have also yielded additional hardships. He explains, "All of a sudden the IRS has frozen my bank accounts two or three times to leave me completely penniless. I don't even understand that and why this is all happening at the same time. When I called to find out why they said, 'Oh, we had an address mix up. It was a clerical error. So we'll return your funds in nine to ten months.' I don't understand how that's fair in America."

The vocalist reveals that his civil rights have been violated and that he intends to share the details with the public despite being threatened with every piece of dirt on his history being brought to light. He adds, "I'm gonna take it public. And I'm gonna expose and I'm gonna fight every single individual that is responsible for this. Right now, I'm looking for an honest, good attorney that's ready to fight and ready to take it all the way to the top."

Stapp states that he's been staying at a Holiday Inn, but over the course of the last few weeks he's had moments where he had to live in his truck, went days without food and ended up in a hospital emergency room. He also states that someone had gotten access to his online banking account, changed his passwords and completely cleaned out his financial savings.

"I'm not playing victim and I'm not asking you to feel sorry. I'm just telling you the truth about what's going on with my life," says Stapp, who vows to continue letting people know what's going on with his situation.

Stapp's testimonial is likely in response to an article in the Miami Herald, which reports that Stapp's wife Jaclyn has filed for divorce, stating in documents that Stapp has been using crystal meth and steroids, and has been writing paranoid, drug-induced text messages.
