Richland Schools Put On Lockdown by Sword Wielding Maniac

A man was swinging a sword and banging on the doors of a Richland daycare causing a lockdown at nearby schools. Police got calls and found the man, Steven L Houtrouw, 29, on the corner of Williams Boulevard and Stevens Drive around 2:48 p.m reports say. They found him down the street outside Christ the King still carrying the sword. Police tried to talk the man down and get him to put down the sword but he just yelled back to shoot him. They then used tasers to subdue the man and took him to the hospital for evaluation and then booked him at the Benton County jail on burglary and weapons charges.
