When Jeff Angell and Barrett Martin decided to form a new band, they didn’t have to look very far for support. As two longtime members of the Seattle music scene, with time served in bands like Mad Season and Screaming Trees, they only needed to reach out to some old friends. Some very famous old friends.

While there remains continual doubt about if and when Velvet Revolver will ever return to the stage with a new singer, it’s at least nice to know that the core group of former Guns N’ Roses members remain on a friendly basis. That was definitely on display Friday night (July 13) in Seattle when Duff McKagan dropped in on his old pal Slash for a performance at the Paramount Theatre.

Congrats are in order for Duff McKagan. The ex-Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist just received his high school diploma.
