Gas Prices

The crime is nothing new, it's happened elsewhere. But this is the first time in SE or Central WA we've heard of people actually siphoning gas from the underground storage tanks. This takes just a wee bit more tech than pump and peel away without paying, or stealing from a car's gas tank.

Gas prices suck right now. We all feel it. According to AAA, the average price of a regular gallon of gas in Washington State right now is just under $5.20. It doesn't help that Washington State has the 3rd highest gas-tax in the U.S. But what can you do...

Given what the suspect did with the vehicle, we wondered.

Taking a look at gas prices in Eastern and Western Washington before the Holiday travel begins.

The cheapest gas in the valley can be found in Wapato at the Wolf Den for $3.25 a gallon.

It's funny, we never had fuel shortages during the height of COVID pandemic, but we are seeing them in some states now.

Today in Olympia, the House Transportation Committee proposed raising the state gas tax another 10 cents. Representative Judy Clibbon of Mercer Island, chair of the committee, will seek the measure as part of a larger transportation package. She and several Democrats plan to formally unveil their proposal Wednesday.
