In September, Slipknot percussionist Shawn 'Clown' Crahan announced that he would be releasing a limited edition mask every year for his birthday on September 24. These aren't some lame, flimsy masks either. Each of the limited edition 50 masks is made from movie prop quality materials, handcrafted and painted by Crahan himself to make each mask unique.

Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan is one of the most renowned members of Slipknot. The percussionist and backing vocalist has dawned many different clown masks during his tenure with the band, all of them being some of the most memorable metal disguises in Slipknot’s long history. Hiring a clown for a university functions is a little absurd — unless the clown is Slipknot percussionist M Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan. Slipknot fans received a bit of good news over the summer when percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan announced that the band was planning an American tour for 2012. Now, Crahan says Slipknot is in the planning stages for the follow-up to 2008′s ‘All Hope Is Gone’ album, although it might be awhile before anyone gets to hear it.
