Kennewick Police now say the father of a 14-day-old baby boy who was beaten admits he did it.

  BABY IS IN STABLE CONDITION SAY AUTHORITIES

Police were called to the Kadlec "Freestanding" ER clinic on 19th and Highway 395 last Wednesday just after 1 PM by staff who were concerned about the severity of injuries to a 14-day-old baby boy brought there.

According to Police, the baby was suffering from a skull fracture and bruises on his head and face. Police said the parents, the 20-year-old suspect male and a 19-year-old female, claimed they didn't know how the baby got hurt.

KPD released this statement:

"Kennewick Detectives responded and spoke to the parents individually. The investigation led to a search warrant being completed at the residence and the 20 year old father being arrested for the alleged crime of Assault of a Child 2nd Degree DV."

According to reports, including court docs and KEPR-CBS-TC, the father, identified as 20-year-old Nathan Lee Webster, admitted he beat and hurt the child.

WHAT TIME COULD FATHER BE FACING IF FOUND GUILTY?

According to authorities, if found guilty on the charges he's facing Webster could be facing up to ten years in prison.

The baby is in Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane and is in stable condition.
