The lineup for the second annual DimeBash has been announced. The show is a tribute to the late, great guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott, who tragically was gunned down seven years ago today, Dec. 8, in Ohio while doing what he loved most: playing guitar. He was performing with his post-Pantera band Damageplan when a disturbed fan opened fire at close range and shot him.

‘That Metal Show’ hosts Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine will be on tap to host the Dec. 14 show, with Dio Disciples and Kill Devil Hill, featuring Dime’s former Pantera bandmate Rex Brown, set to open the festivities. Members of System of Down, Alice in Chains, Slipkot and other bands will also take part in jam sessions.

“Today marks the 7th year, which still doesn’t seem like a reality to me,” states Dime’s longtime girlfriend Rita Haney. “I hope everyone enjoys this event as much as we like bringing it to them. It’s nothing more, nothing less, than ‘About a damn good time!’ – one of my favorite Dime pastimes and phrases. There are no words to express my thanks to all the artists who make this event special and give “us fans” a night to remember two truly amazing people and the music they created! I am forever at your beckon call, so c’mon out and experience the evening with us. It’s going to be quite magical!!!”

The artists that have committed to appear at the event represent a “Who’s Who” of hard rock and heavy metal elite, all of whom are coming together to celebrate Dime. They are as follows:

Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine)

Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains)

David Draiman (Disturbed)

Serj Tankian (System of a Down)

Joey Jordison (Slipknot)

Scott Ian (Anthrax)

Rex Brown (ex-Pantera)

John 5 (Rob Zombie)

Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N’ Roses)

Sebastian Bach (Skid Row)

Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion)

Tim “Ripper” Owens (Yngwie Malmsteen, Dio Disciples, ex-Judas Priest)

Stephen Pearcy (Ratt)

Warren De Martini (Ratt)

Robin McAuley (MSG)

Oni Logan (Lynch Mob)

Doug Pinnick (King’s X)

The event will be held at the Key Club in West Hollywood on Dec. 14. All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up & Shout Cancer Fund.

Long live Dime!
