Yakima Police are investigating a possible gang-related shooting that killed a 14-year-old boy this morning.

The shooting was reported at about 11:25 a.m. at Cornell Avenue and West King Street.

Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says the 14-year-old was taken to a Yakima hospital after being shot multiple times. He died at the hospital.

Bastinelli says police believe the boy was standing on the street corner when he was shot by someone in a passing vehicle. No suspects have been arrested.

Police say shell casings from the gun littered the street corner.
