Last week news of Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier leaving the band and being replaced by My Darkest Days vocalist Matt Walst shocked fans everywhere.

Late Sunday night, Walst took to Facebook to give an update on the situation. As fans began commenting on the status update, Walst began to reply back. Lets just say he doesn’t have a lot of good things to say about Gontier.

This was the original Facebook status update. Posted around midnight on Sunday, January 13:

That last line…is he calling Gontier selfish?! When I first read the news last week I thought it seemed like he was leaving his band high and dry, but as with every story there are multiple sides and accounts as to what was really going on. I started to read the comments and saw that Walst (or someone controlling the page, but considering the way some questions were answered I think it’s a safe guess that this was Walst) was replying back to fans. Here are a few of his responses:

Ok, so he isn’t sick. We knew that. Gontier said in his departure letter:

After twenty years of being part of an ever evolving band, I have been inspired by life, to move on and to continue to evolve on my own terms.

Apparently, the explanation from Gontier wasn’t the real reason for his departure:

Then what was the real reason for Gontier walking away from Three Days Grace? There is obviously A LOT more to this story then we know right now. It will be interesting to see what else comes out in the next couple days. I’m sure there will be some sort of response. We will just have to wait and see it its the PR brush under the rug kind of answer or if someone from one of the bands steps up and puts the rumors and ‘lies’ to rest. Hopefully it can come out in a better way than this high-school-breakup-esque-social-media update because this is just petty:

Do you think Three Days Grace and/or My Darkest Days can continue to see the success they have received in recent years with Gontier leaving and Walst pulling double duty?
