A young missing girl from Kennewick is being featured on a popular podcast as authorities are still searching for her after 19 years.

Here are the details on the case:

On the evening of February 4, 2003, four-year-old Sofia Juarez was at home in Kennewick, Washington. One of her relatives left the family home to make a
a quick stop at a nearby convenience store, and after he left, Sofia decided she would join him, leaving the home and headed down the street.

No one has ever seen or heard from Sofia since, and the bright, bubbly young girl who would have turned five the very next day vanished into the night, never to be seen again.

Sofia hasn't been found and the search still continues. A popular podcast is stepping in to help with the search.

On Monday's August 23rd episode of The Vanished Podcast, host and creator Marissa Jones tells the story of Sofia’s mysterious disappearance and probable kidnapping by someone unknown to her.

In interviews with current investigators, the original officer who responded to Sofia’s house, and the current Kennewick Police Chief.

KPD discussed discuss Sofia’s story and their impassioned dedication to finding her. Investigator Al Wehner, who is heading up a dedicated cold case unit that works exclusively on cases like Sofia’s told Marissa that; “relationships change over time. allegiances once owed no longer exist. It is okay to say something. Sofia’s family and her community need your help to find out what happened to her.”

Police hope that renewed attention to Sofia’s story will encourage someone to come forward with information that will lead to the resolution of Sofia’s case.
