Moses Lake Caregiver Locks Her Elderly, Disabled Clients Out of Their House
It all started when a neighbor called police to report a suspected drunk driver. When police arrived they found a very sober driver who was in the middle of a much stranger problem.
A 49-year-old woman was employed as caregiver to an elderly couple. The man has Parkinson's Disease and the woman has multiple sclerosis. They got in a fight and the couple took off to cool off.
The neighbor saw the man walking funny (from the Parkinson's) and thought he was drunk, hence the 9-1-1 call.
When the couple returned home they discovered the caregiver had blocked the front door from the inside! So the man went around the back of the house to check another door, and LEFT HIS KEYS IN THE DOOR KNOB! The caregiver then unblocked the door, opened it, grabbed the keys, and locked the couple out!
When police arrived and heard the man's explanation they went to the front door and demanded the woman unlock it. There was no answer.
Upon achieving entry they discovered the caregiver hiding in the bathroom. She said diarrhea prevented her from opening the door. Once arrested she began screaming, stomping her feet and fighting.
In the patrol car she told the officers she had just needed some time to herself.
