A Richland woman was shot in the leg as she was backing out of a parking space in Renton. A woman approached the Richland woman's vehicle, with her young daughter inside, and opened fire SIX times for no apparent reason.

The 22-year old Richland mother and her 3-year old girl were at Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse 225 SW Seventh St. at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, when a woman walked up her car and started firing a pistol.

The mother was struck in the leg and the suspect fled. A police K9 officer tracked the suspect where she was arrested without incident, the pistol allegedly found in her pocket.

Police booked a 33-year old Des Moines woman into the King County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault. The suspect, whose name is not being released, refused to talk to law enforcement which leaves investigators wondering why the randomness of it all.

The Richland woman was treated for a non-life-threatening wound and was in stable condition.

The two women do not appear to know each other.
