Sevendust to Unplug in 2014 with Acoustic Album and Tour [VIDEO]
This is the best news I have read today - Sevendust are working on a fully acoustic album and planning an acoustic tour for 2014!
As part of the celebration for their 20th Anniversary next year, the Georgia boys of Sevendust will be unplugging and recording an acoustic studio album for their first time. Going off the beaten path from their heavier, riff oriented style, Sevendust will be exploring their own music in a way they hope will open new doors for themselves as a band. After their current tour wraps up, they will be hitting the studio hard. Not only recording fan submitted favorites for the acoustic record, but also a half dozen or so new songs!
Although there is no release date as of yet for Sevendust: The Acoustic Album, you can pre-order the new record right now by putting in a pledge through PledgeMusic.com. Similar to a Kickstarter campaign, this allows the band to dish out special rewards and gifts to fans who might want more than just some new recordings. Everything from autographed memorabilia, guitar lessons from Clint, Skype conversations with the band or even a full on acoustic concert at your house!
I just dropped $14 and will get a set of autographed guitar picks with a download of the acoustic album when it is completed. All the items that you can pledge for are limited, so hurry and snag 'em up before they run out!
On top of it all 5% of all money raised after the goal is reached will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
We may not get a lot of shows rolling through the Tri-Cities, but to this day, Sevendust remains one of my favorites that I have seen in our hometown. Besides their performance, getting to meet these guys and just see how incredibly cool and surprisingly normal they were was awesome. It's easy to put musicians and celebrities on a pedestal, but you will never find these guys holding themselves up higher than anyone. A beyond humble group of great musicians that are more about their fans than pleasing a record label executive or fitting into a specific mold.
I can't wait for this record \m/
