And they're banking on it, turning old city property into a drone hub; working to set up people in the drone industry with facilities and equipment to help attain the goals of engineers and industrial experimenters in the industry, whatever that role or purpose may be.

The city has converted an old air field into a drone testing range, and since there are so many regulations on flying drones, this range has become very popular with industrial and scientific drone engineers. There have been lots of stories in the news about this (recently a drone being tested for use in the Arctic was all over the news). Now Pendleton is buying an old bank building to convert into a "drone command center" to use with the facility.
