One movie theater is leaving and one theater is breaking ground. Regal Cinemas is closing at the Columbia Center but Fairchild Cinemas is breaking ground this week in South Kennewick.

The new Cinema will feature reclining seats and alcohol for sale for theater goers.

Fairchild bought the property in 2011 and the sign has been there for years getting people excited for a new movie theater in South Kennewick - the closest theaters being near the Mall and in Pasco.

It's a welcome addition and it's finally happening. The new theater will employ roughly 40 people and feature 10 screens.
